The American the Beautiful Annual Pass, better known as the NPS (National Park Services) pass, is your ticket to over 2,000 federal recreation sites for 12 months with one flat fee of $80!
If you live in California, you can visit many national parks within hours so having this pass will make your checking account thank you. For those of you who road trip once a quarter or once a year, this could still be beneficial! Just like a pass for an amusement park, once you explore the beauty of a national park, you will probably want to visit the same park again! If doing the same thing twice isn’t your style, you’ll get the travel bug to venture to a different park in the near future! So why purchase the America the Beautiful pass?
It’s cost-efficient: Even if you plan to visit one national park, you never know when you’ll need the pass!
During our trip to Zion National Park, we ventured into Arizona in the Glen Canyon area. We preceded to kayak from Antelope Point Marina to Lower Antelope Canyon. Little did we know, there was a vehicle entrance fee to enter the marina. When we asked the gentleman behind the glass about the entrance fee of $35, he told us a NPS pass would grant free entry.
At that moment, we realized this pass would make a great deal of sense rather than paying for two different park entrance fees, as well as future trips (even if they were not planned yet)!
The gentleman instructed us to head to Wahweep Marina entrance to purchase the pass (you can purchase your pass online as well). Through all the driving, we were getting worn out, but… the pass was purchased and it was the best decision we could have made! Cost-effective and useful on many different playing fields!

Entering by bicycle or by foot?
At Zion National Park, if you enter the national park by bicycle or by foot you must purchase a ticket for $20 a person (youth 15 and younger are free). If you have an America the Beautiful pass with each person’s signature on the back (maximum 2), both people will get in for free. Just another reason to purchase the pass!
It’s convenient! Create memories with friends and family
Experiences are priceless and once you get an annual pass, you’ll want to continue making memories with your friends and family. Don’t just toss the pass in a drawer and forget about it! Use this opportunity to plan a trip, even once a month, to a national park!
There are over 2,000 federal recreation sites, including the Grand Canyon, Red Rocks National Conservation Area and Yellowstone, so get picky and start planning! You can also use the pass for national wildlife refuges as well as day-use options for national forests and national grasslands.

2 motorcycles?
Yes, the pass covers two motorcycles, unlike vehicles, but the two drivers must have their signatures on the back of the annual pass (maximum signatures 2).
